CNC machine tools can be classified into CNC drilling machine, lathes, milling machines, boring machines, grinding machines and gear cutting machines, as well as pressing, punching, bending machine, shearing machines according to the process uses.


Description

According to the control mode of CNC control system, it can be classified into open loop control, semi-closed loop control, full closed loop control.

The characteristic of open-loop control system is no feedback system, command information transmitted in one direction, and the instruction is issued, no longer feedback, so be called open-loop control. At present, most of the ordinary CNC lathe spindle, high-speed milling machine, precision engraving machine are open loop control. Features in such situations: requires small speed fluctuations while sudden load; rapid acceleration and deceleration performance (improve processing efficiency),big torque while low speed heavy cutting; wide adjusting speed range,variety of  way of CNC speed given (-10v~+10v analog or pulse input); big fluctuation range in grid environment, big oil in physical environment.

Semi-closed loop CNC machine tools dose not directly detect the table displacement,it uses angular displacement detecting element, measures angle of servo motor or screw, calculates the actual displacement of table, feedback to the CNC to control the position. Turning Centers, composite milling machine, high speed tapping machine, CNC precision automatic lathe, deep hole drilling, semi-automatic boring and milling machine and others are such semi-closed loop control. Features in such situations: small fluctuations while speed control ; wide adjusting speed range; rapid acceleration and deceleration performance, big torque while low speed heavy cutting; small error during high-speed position control ,big shaft locking force while low speed , accurate positioning.

The characteristics of full closed loop control (double-loop) system are that it make actual displacement of the worktable feedback to the computer by the use of detection devices on the worktable, comparing with the required position instructions, controls by the difference until the difference eliminated. So that, the closed loop control system can eliminate the influence of mechanical transmission errors and the influence during machining workpiece, thereby greatly improving the machining accuracy. End milling machines, automatic milling machine, corrugated paper cutting machine, rebar (steel) bending (shear) and others are such full closed loop control. In addition to above-mentioned requirements such machines have the most important feature that the high precision, fast moving.
