Hazardous Substance Management

Megmeet rigorously adheres to Measures for the Safety Management of Chemicals, European Union Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS), European Union Registration, Evaluation, Authorization, and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH), Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986 (California Proposition 65), and other conventions, laws, and regulations. Megmeet has established the hazardous substance management system that covers both ourselves and our subsidiaries. Shenzhen Megmeet and Zhuzhou Megmeet have both obtained the IECQ QC 080000:2017 certificate for hazardous substance management.

In addition, we have established a Hazardous Substance Management Committee and issued the Appointment of Hazardous Substance Management Committee to clearly defined the responsibilities of every committee members, ensuring the effectiveness of our hazardous substance management system.

For raw materials, semi-finished products, finished products, and packing materials from our headquarters and subsidiaries, we have listed clear classification and requirements for hazardous substances and prohibited substances. We have established a comprehensive hazardous substance management system that covers management regulations, product development, raw material procurement, manufacturing and shipment. It enables our products comply with the hazardous substance management policies of the worldwide regulations and customers’ requirements.

Megmeet established the management system of hazardous substances throughout the product lifecycle. Management System: Hazardous Substance Management Manual, Hazardous Substance Management System Planning Procedure, and Process Audit Standards for Supplier’s HSF are issued. Product Development: Keeping environment protection in mind, we continue to consider environmental impact into product design and development. Verifying the environmental compliance of the materials. Sending the finished products to the testing agencies for environmental testing, including tests for heavy metals, plasticizers, and flame retardants, to ensure the products meet environment protection requirements. Raw Material Procurement: The  Process Audit Standards for Supplier’s HSF is formulated, clearly stipulating the management measures for suppliers to ensure the Hazardous Substances Free (HSF). The management measures include Supplier Risk Level Management, Material Risk Level, Supplier Audit Regulations, and New Suppliers HSF Audit, etc.

Agreements, such as environmental protection agreements and declarations of non-use of hazardous substances, are signed with suppliers to enforce the restrictions management. Suppliers are required to provide a Material Composition Declaration (MCD) and third-party test reports like Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) to verify the environmental compliance of their materials. Incoming Quality Control (IQC): Raw materials are tested based on their risk levels to ensure they meet our environmental protection requirements. Suppliers are required to label materials for environmental compliance, such as attaching RoHS tags. We will check the outer boxes of the materials for these labels. Manufacturing: Training related to Hazardous Substance Management Requirements is provided to staff working in storage and production areas. Confirming the environmental compliance for raw materials and packaging materials with hazardous substances. Shipping: Providing customers with material composition information and hazardous substance test reports, such as RoHS reports before the shipment.
